Took my first pilates reformer class today with Tracy at Flex Pilates. Boy, was it super fun and challenging at the same time. My rectus abdominus was on fire — then my glutes were on fire. The reformer really does call upon all of your muscles to work in tandem to keep you strong while performing slow, controlled movements. Think you’ll just power through it and do things fast? Or cheat to fake the effort hoping the instructor doesn’t notice you? Think again, Tracy will notice, but don’t worry, she is caring and motivational with her cues. She works with your body and your exercise level to challenge you appropriately. The class sizes are small so you get the individualized attention you’ll need. – Jasmine P.

Tracy gave me the most amazing workout by working out muscles I didn’t even know I had! She was so motivational and encouraged me to challenge myself…and under her instruction, I did! It’s not easy, but once you get through a set, it feels so incredibly rewarding. What’s great it the small class size and the fact that she comes around to make sure you’re in proper form. She clearly instructed me on exactly what I needed to be doing to engage my muscles. Just when I thought I couldn’t do another rep, she convinced me that I could with her words of encouragement. AND…can we talk about the amazing view? There are giant windows in this 7th floor studio with views of the beautiful Chicago skyline. Zindell, who took classes with Brooke Burke, Marcia Cross and Megan Fox at Pilates Plus in Beverly Hills, became hooked on this fast-paced 50-minute Pilates Reformer workout to build lean muscle and gain flexibility. She was so sold on it, in fact, that she got certified to teach Pilates, and opened her own studio here.
